Marzipan balls

 

When I think of Sinterklaas or Father Christmas, I think, “those that are sweet will get a treat…” So marzipan is definitely not a treat to miss!

10 min preparation + 30 min cooling + 10 min finishing

ingredients

 

  • 225 g almond flour
  • 225 g Zùsto
  • 2 egg whites
  • A little lemon juice or orange blossom (for flavour)
  • Optional: cocoa powder or coconut

 

Equipment

 

  • Food processor
  • Cling film

Preparation method

 

  1. Beat the egg white.
  2. Mix together almond flour and the Zùsto.
  3. Add the egg whites little by little to the dry ingredients while kneading them in the food processor using a dough hook.
  4. When it comes together into a ball, you can stop adding the egg white.
  5. Wrap in the cling film and leave it to rest in the fridge for half an hour.
  6. Now roll the balls (you can also roll them in the cocoa or coconut if you like)
